Caitlin & Jeff
The Old Schoolhouse | Newberg, Oregon
Caitlin and Jeff are the kind of people that instantly make you feel like an old friend. They're both warm, friendly and very goofy. I caught several photos of Caitlin making silly faces at the camera, feigning disgust at kisses from Jeff. No wonder these two fell in love!
Their wedding was on a Sunday night, so I kind of expected it to be a small crowd and an early night – I was very wrong! But after learning that their first date was a spontaneous road trip to Las Vegas, I’m not too surprised after all! Jeff grew up in Oregon, but the couple lives in California. They met while working for Disney-Pixar, so they like to say that Mickey Mouse introduced them. Friends and family from all over came to celebrate and party until the stars came out. That’s no exaggeration – this group partied until 11:30 pm on a Sunday!
The wedding was The Old Schoolhouse, an intimate venue in the countryside of Newberg, Oregon. It’s exactly what it sounds like: an old schoolhouse sitting just across the street from an orchard. Catering was provided by White Pepper out of Portland and it was incredible.
Caitlin and Jeff had a traditional Jewish ceremony which included the signing of ketubah, ceremony under a chuppah to symbolize the new home the couple will be building together, the bride and groom circling under the chuppah, the seven blessings, breaking of the glass and more.
At the reception the entire crowd gathered around, dancing in a circle and lifted the couple into the air during the Hora dance. I’d never seen this dance in person before and it was amazing to witness.
There’s a lot of great things I could say about Caitlin and Jeff’s wedding, but I’ll just let the photos tell the rest.
